“We are women, five drives, five passions.” In this way finishes the written presentation of the work that under the title “Passion for Drawing.” Is presented in the exhibition hall of The Col•legi d’Aparelladors to inaugurate the season, with the signature of Laia Arnau, Violeta Camaño, Ana Garcia, Catherine Lorton, and Laura Sánchez and herself. …(…) Maybe Laia Arnau could appear that on paper, she is the one who hade it easiest, as her work as an illustrator uses more than any other the tool of drawing. But this premises could become a contradictory weapon that in its way colour is the essential element and not a resource.
Aware of that, she has chosen to stay loyal to her ideas but centring her drawing in the games of shadows and lines, that not only made a later colouring impossible, but also unnecessary and even harmful. Works of her character perfectly measured and executed… (…)
“Passion for Drawing”, a brilliant exhibition that is worth visiting with tranquillity and serenity. An exhibition that refers us to the origins of the protagonists working ways and reaffirms the concept of drawing as a fundamental tool of artistic creating. Because as it has always been said, to be able to undrawn, first you need to know how to draw.
